Robert Overby: About When

Exibition catalogue published on the occasion of About When, February 4 - March 20, 2004 at Haunch of Vension. The title of the exhibition is taken from a work made by Robert Overby in June 1970 and destroyed by the artist later that year. About When activates a "new" life of the work, making its presence very much present-tense. Introductory essay by David Rimanelli details the "two lives" of Robert Overby work, proposing that what stymied Overby's reception in '70s may have contributed to the curious "afterlife" his work has enjoyed since the early '90s.
