The practice of L. Ettinger has its roots in her autobiographical past, in the history of parents who survived the Holocaust, and analyzes the concepts of trauma, oblivion, feminine and “matrixial” gaze, of the space of the unconscious and passing from the invisible to the visible, emphasizing the properties of the art of healing and healing the individual and society.
In the frame of ESPRESSIONI, The Center of Research of Castello di Rivoli (CRRI) in collaboration with the curatorial department of the Museum organizes the first Italian exhibition of the artist and psychoanalyst Bracha L. Ettinger.
Her notebooks, like his paintings, are characterized by a balance between abstract and figurative through very fine strokes, application of layers of color, and definition of shapes creating an oblique atmosphere between darkness and light and invite the viewer to immerse themselves in an intimate and spiritual time.
On the occasion of the exhibition, CRRI organized the digitization, transcription, translation and research of the notebooks.
